Tirzepatide:

Tirzepatide is FDA-approved for the treatment of type II diabetes under the brand name medication, Mounjaro®. Zepbound® is a new brand name (Tirzepatide) that is FDA-approved for weight management.

Like Semaglutide, Tirzepatide has been a successful diabetes treatment medication. It is within the same drug class as Semaglutide known as incretin mimetics. However, it is different in that Tirzepatide acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors.

As a dual-acting GIP and GLP-1, Tirzepatide lowers fasting and postprandial glucose levels. After many clinical studies and trials, Tirzepatide has been found to also significantly decrease food intake, reduce body weight, and improve health in patients struggling with weight-related issues.

Zepbound® is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2), or overweight (BMI ≥ 27 kg/m2) with at least one weight-related comorbid condition when combined with a balanced diet and a sensible exercise program. Zepbound is the first and only FDA-approved obesity treatment that activates both GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) hormone receptors.

While the above mentioned brand name products have successfully reduced body mass index, compounded Tirzepatide is not FDA-approved for weight loss. At Elle Weight Loss we use compounded Tirzepatide. Although it is a similar product as the brand name drugs listed above it does not come with an FDA-approval.

We deem this a safe and effective way to help people finally lose weight, and we only want to offer complete transparency and the safest options to our amazing clients.
